Pacifier Habits (Kids Dental Care):
Although sucking habits are the part of baby’s life and bring comfort to child. Sucking habit has also no bad impact on oral health even after when there is no need of sucking from breast or feeder. But long term sucking may cause serious dental problems and may leads to dental decay.
Thumb sucking is also a natural phenomenon and has no any bad effect but again if baby do sucking when their teeth are in growing stages then I may harm to their newly growing teeth and thus kids must stop sucking their thumb.

Kids can start brushing their teeth as the 1st teeth come up, usually it comes within 6 to 7 month. But mostly dentist recommend to start brushing after 2 years. Kids can use fluoride tooth paste approximately pea sized in amount. Their favorite tooth paste (kids friendly) and tooth brush can help them to exited in brushing daily.
How to Prevent Cavities in Kids?
Usually cavities occur when food particles or bacteria stuck between teeth causing the collection of acid on the teeth and softening the enamel on teeth which leads to the hole or cavity. Collection of bacteria may also cause dental plaque.
There are few methods that helps how to stop cavities?
- Teach kids properly about brushing and flossing at their early age and make their habit to brush daily at least two time.
- Use good fluoride tooth paste regularly which helps to make enamel toughen and thus acid cannot penetrate easily.
- Avoid or limit use of several foods such as sugary foods, candies and excessive use of juices. Because these foods reduce or destroy the enamel of tooth which helps bacteria and food particles to stuck with tooth which leads to the formation of cavities.
